𝗢𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼’𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘄 “𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁” 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿‐𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 allows certain regulated professionals, already certified elsewhere in Canada, to be deemed certified to work in Ontario for a limited period while they complete full registration. This development is intended to reduce administrative barriers and may change how rehabilitation and vocational services are sourced for Ontario‑based files.

For insurers, legal professionals, and workers’ compensation boards, these changes could 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻‐𝘁𝗼‐𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, including when claims involve more than one province. At the same time, organizations remain responsible for ensuring that any service provider they retain meets applicable regulatory requirements and aligns with internal quality and policy standards.

𝗩𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗠 𝗩𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮 on employability assessments, earning‑capacity opinions, and return‑to‑work planning within existing legal and regulatory frameworks.
